The Bell at West Overton was built as a coaching inn on the original London to Bath coaching route, now the A4, just outside the charming village of West Overton in Wiltshire. The surrounding area is said to have a greater concentration of ancient monuments than anywhere else in Britain and it also maintains an abundance of sarsen stones which were used by the builders of Stonehenge and Avebury.

The property began trading in 1812 as The New Inn, changed it’s name in 1823 to The Bell Inn and underwent a major refurbishment in 2010 and reopened as The Bell at West Overton. It retains plenty of its original character & features including sarsen stone walls. At the rear is a secluded patio garden with an outside bar with delightful views across the water meadows and the local countryside.

The Bell at West Overton is just a sarsen stones throw away from historic Avebury, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow and the White Horses of Wiltshire, with Marlborough just 4 miles away.
